Art Odyssey 2021 on science fictionista innoituksensa saanut kirja- ja näyttelykokonaisuus. Se esittelee kahdeksan nykytaiteilijan (Lauri Astala, Petri Eskelinen, Roland Persson, Joseph Popper, Tiina Raitanen, Kimmo Schroderus, Magnus Wallin ja Charlotta Östlund) videoteoksia ja veistoksia, joissa voi nähdä vaikutteita sekä tieteiskirjallisuudesta että -elokuvista. Kirjan teksteistä vastaavat scifi-kirjallisuuden legenda Jeff VanderMeer sekä maineikkaan Tähtivaeltaja-blogin suomalaiset scifi-asiantuntijat Jukka Halme ja Aleksi Kuutio. Näyttely on esillä Serlachius-museoissa 6.11.2021-17.4.2022.
Art Odyssey 2021 is a book and exhibition project inspired by science fiction. It presents the work of eight Finnish contemporary artists (Lauri Astala, Petri Eskelinen, Roland Persson, Joseph Popper, Tiina Raitanen, Kimmo Schroderus, Magnus Wallin and Charlotta Östlund), featuring video and sculpture influenced by sci-fi literature and film. The accompanying essays are authored by sci-fi literary legend Jeff VanderMeer and two Finnish sci-fi bloggers and aficionados, Jukka Halme and Aleksi Kuutio. The exhibition will be on show at the Serlachius Museums from November 6, 2021 to April 17, 2022.
