Jaakobin pojat / The Sons of Jacob

Kostiainen is a favourite composer of choral societies because of his catchy and down-to-earth melodic inventiveness and an ability to handle choral resources with flexibility and panache. Jaakobin pojat is scored for children's choir (SSSAA) while Jaakobin isot pojat (product number 9790550090118) is for mixed choir. The text for both pieces is formed from the names of Jacob's sons in the biblical tale. The modern approach of these two works is typical of Kostiainen's style.
