Partita

The brief Partita (1958), which reverts to a more Neoclassical style, is based on a guitar piece sketched in New York in 1955 but not completed at the time. The tuning of the guitar, in which fourths dominate, can be heard in the work, particularly in the slow movement, which is framed by a faster opening and finale.
